William Thurston Topham

William Thurston Topham was born in 1888 in Spondon, Derbyshire, England. He studied architecture in England, and travelled in Germany and Paris.

In the early 1900's he had settled in MontrĂ©al, Quebec and was painting full-time. A common subject for him was the Laurentians. He worked in oil, acrylic, watercolours, and pastels. Along with landscapes he also painted, portraits, abstracts, interiors, and war scenes from World War One. 

 The artist died in 1966 TOPHAM, William Thurston ARCA (1888-1966). Born 

He exhibited with the Royl Canadian Academy from 1918-1952, and the American Association of Museums from 1913-1947.

His work is part of the collection at the Canadian War Museum, among others.

He died in MontrĂ©al in 1966.
