Suzanne Joubert was born in Montréal but lived abroad before returning permanently to Canada in 2001.
She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in visual arts in 1973 with the Gold Medal of Excellence at The University of Ottawa, and a Master of Arts in the visual arts in 1989 from University of Québec at Montréal with the FCAR excellence scholarship. her master degree solo exhibition was at Ufundi Gallery in Ottawa in 1988, the exhibit was featured on the cover-page of Vie des Arts magazine.
