Marius Dubois

Marius Dubois was born in 1944. He studied sculpture at the Fine Arts School of Québec, he also obtained a Masters in Painting from Horsey College of Arts, in London in 1970.

Upon his return to Montréal, Dubois had several solo exhibitions. He has completed many commissions. 

In 1977, at the First Biennial of Québec artists, Dubois won the Grand Prix for his work "Hunting".

In the early 1980's Dubois became interested and inspired by  the painters of the Renaissance. His work began to evolve technically and symbolically. He is a master of surrealism, employing imaginative scenes and bold colours. 

He has been the resident artist of the Isle of Orleans since 1981. He lived and works in his studio in St. Pétronille, Québec. 

Dubois Was Elected to the Royal Academy of Canada in 2008.
