Louis de Niverville was born om Andover, England in 1933. He was a self-taught artist working as a graphic designer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Toronto from 1957 to 1963.
In 1966-67 he created a mural for Expo Theatre in Montréal. Along with painting he also incorporated collage work. Niverville's work is characterized by and inspired by childhood memories and dreams.
Since 1988, Louis de Niverville has lived and worked in Vancouver.
