Lorraine Simms graduated from The Ontario College of Art and Design. She completed her Master of Fine Arts at Concordia University, where she also taught for many years.
Simms has been the recipient of numerous awards from the Canada Council and the Conseil des Arts et des lettres du Québec.
Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions across Canada and in the United States.
Her paintings can be seen in the collections of the Musée du Québec, the Tom Thomson Memorial Gallery, and Concordia University, among others. She is a member of The Royal Canadian Academy.
Simms currently lives and works in Montréal, Quebec. She teaches in the Visual Art Department at Dawson College.
