Landon Mackenzie studied at The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax from 1972-1975, and received her Master of Fine Arts at Concordia University in 1979.
She is known for her large-format abstract paintings.
Her work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally. Her work can be found at The National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery, among others.
Mackenzie has received numerous awards, such as, The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012, several Canada Council grants, and she became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy in 2005, among others.
Based in Vancouver, Mackenzie is a professor at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
