Hugh Mackenzie

Mackenzie began his career as a technical artist working on the Avro Arrow. He also worked at The Ontario College of Art from 1968 until 1991. 

Mackenzie was recognized as a high realist painter before wandering to abstraction. He has also explored etching, one of his favourite mediums and outlets for artistic creativity.

Mackenzie has exhibited extensively across the country, his work has been the subject of numerous catalogues and publications. 

He is represented in the collections at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Carleton University Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Montréal Museum of Fine Art. His work is also part of many private collections.
