Frederick Nicholas Loveroff was born in Tiflis, Russia between 1894-95, the date has been questioned for decades. He immigrated with his family to Saskatchewan in 1900, eventually moving again to Ontario.
He studied at the Ontario College of Art in 1913. During this time he began exhibiting with the Royal Canadian Academy and the Ontario Society of Artists.
During the 1930's art was no longer being purchased or praised due to the negative effects of the depression, a fruitful career as an artist became wishful thinking. It is believed during this time Loveroff ceased to create any more works until his death.
His work can be found in the collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the National Gallery of Canada, University of Toronto Hart House and the University of Saskatchewan.
He died in 1959.
