Francine Simonin was born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1936.
Simonin's career spans four decades, along with painting she is also a printmaker. She has had over one hundre solo exhibitions.
In 2004, the Musée National des Beaux Arts du Québec and the Monique and Robert Parizeau foundation gave her a prize to acknowledge and reward her contribution to the history of printmaking in Quebec.
Simonin's works are part of numerous public collections in Canada and Switzerland as well as many private collections around the world.
Currently Simonin lives and works in Montréal where she has been since 1968.
