Eric Freifeld

Eric Freifeld was born in 1919  in the U.S.S.R. Saratov. After the Russian Revolution his family emigrated to Edmonton, Alberta. He attended school in Edmonton. 

In 1942 he enlisted in the Canadian Army, his artistic abilities were recognized and he was posted in the Camouflage School in Vancouver. In 1944 he was discharged for medical reasons. 

He worked with a variety of mediums using watercolours, crayons, pencil and charcoal. His works have been exhibited internationally in institutions such as The National Gallery of Canada. Currently his works can be seen at Joyners Fine Art in Toronto. 

He is a academician of The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. 

He died in Toronto, Ontario in 1984.
