Charles H. Scott

Charles H. Scott was born in 1886 in  Newmilns, Scotland. He emigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1912 eventually settling in  Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Scott was an influencial leader in the art community, throughout his career he was an art educator, painter, draftsman, printmaker and war artist. 

His paintings often depict social and landscape scenes, his use of colour and space capture serene moments in time. He worked in oils and watercolours. 

He was a member of The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. 

He died in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1964.
