Ann Clarke

Ann Clarke studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. She emigrated to Canada, settling in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1968.

Clarke taught at The Edmonton Art Gallery and the University of Alberta for several years. 
 
On a trip to England in 1971,  she was influenced by the large canvases of Mark Rothko.
 
Her work incorporates bold colours, lots of layers, and an array of shapes and lines. 
 
Currently she is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Art and a Professor Emerita of the Department of Visual Arts, at Lakehead University.
